Built to accomodate 38 people, the Overnight Barracks contains two large bunkrooms as pictured above. Following the restoration of the Eastern Ramparts the Overnight Barrack was the first restoration project within the Fort's Officer's Quarters. The Chaperones Quarters contains four bunks within a beutifully restored Greek revival archetecture. With table and benches for 40 and a referbished 19th century wood stove, the kitchen/mess hall also make a great meeting room. Exterior lighting installed in the parade field provides greater saftey during evening activies.

GROUP OVERNIGHT
INFORMATION
Overnights at Fort Adams are seasonal,
available from early April to November.
The Overnight Barracks at Historic Fort Adams provide
groups both
youths and adults alike
with a one of a kind 19th century overnight experience!
The first restoration project in the Officers
Quarters, our Overnight Barracks includes four modern bathrooms, a
common room with a kitchen area, oak tables and benches and a mid-nineteenth
century wood burning stove, as well as, three bunk rooms containing a
total of 38 bunk spaces.
Most of the overnight facility has been finished in plain style
to look like an Army barracks, while the chaperones quarters
restoration was done with great effort made to maintain its
original Greek revival Architecture.

All the new
electrical, plumbing, and telecommunications services were brought into the
Fort in a way that will allow for future growth of these systems when
additional sections of the Officers Quarters are renovated.
The project,
completed in 2008, was funded by:
The Open Space and Recreation Bond Issue,
Capital Grants from the Department of Environmental Management,
and The Champlin Foundations.
