Melissa & Tim's Perfect Fort Adams Wedding

How They Met: We thoroughly enjoyed the wedding planning and allowing our family and friends to participate and feel a part of the whole process. We prioritized the budget to focus on the things that were most important to us and tried to be creative and make hand-made favors, decorations and centerpieces were we could. Not only did this help to keep costs down, but it made the event feel unique and customized to our specific style. We thoroughly enjoyed the wedding planning and allowing our family and friends to participate and feel a part of the whole process. The Fort Adams Experience: We came to a Fort Adams Trust Summer Solstice event held under a tent in the Parade Grounds in 2004. We both fell in love with the Fort and thought what a wonderful place it would be to get married. It is a one-of-a-kind venue with the harbor and bridge views and the backdrop of the historic fort, all located not too far from downtown. We knew that our guests would not only enjoy the amazing wedding setting, but a full weekend of fun events in Newport as well.

How They Met: We met playing in kickball (on opposing teams) beneath the shadow of the Washington Monument… and we became friends at the bar the Bottom Line.

The Fort Adams Experience: Amazing. Cara was the greatest person I have ever met in my entire life, so she made it really easy. The Fort is such a cool space, and I really felt like I could have the unique experience I wanted.

Wedding Planning Advice: Have fun with it!
