Music at the Fort
Come join us for the Fort Adam Trust’s annual evening summer music series! Music at the Fort is a family friendly community event hosted by the Fort Adams Trust. Join us on the North Lawn for a picnic dinner, sunset views, and listen to performances by amazing local talent. Attendance is free, but a $10 suggested donation per person is encouraged.

Come join us for the best seat in the house to view the City of Newport Fireworks show. The Fort Adams Trust is opening the Fort for the community to enjoy. Please bring a picnic dinner, chairs, and blankets and enjoy watching the fireworks show from the Parade Field.

Event is rain or shine
Events begin at 9 a.m. on both days and include reenactors carrying out dramatic simulations of assaults at Fort Adams, as well as re-creations of the daily life of soldiers and civilians during the 1860s. Throughout the day soldiers and civilians in authentic 19th century uniforms and dress will invite the public to spend a day in their life, and to learn about everything from military tactics to cooking and family life during the Civil War. Reenactors from all over New England and beyond will be in attendance, representing soldiers from the Union and the Confederacy, as well as civilian reenactors from both sides.
